At Vets North, we offer Puppy Pre-School classes run by our knowledgeable and friendly nurses to help your new puppy become confident and function well in our human world. Our classes are designed for puppies aged 8-16 weeks who have had at least their first vaccination. Puppies are placed into groups that best suit their age and size.

All our Puppy Preschool Educators have completed the Hills Puppy Preschool Educators Certificate and receive ongoing support from a senior educator. We prioritise your puppy’s safety and use force-free training methods.

Topics Covered in Puppy Pre School:

Socialisation: Invaluable interaction with other puppies and people.
Nutrition: Essential dietary information for your growing puppy.
General Health Care: Tips and advice on keeping your puppy healthy.
Toilet Training: Effective techniques for giving your puppy the knowledge and confidence to toilet outside (or where is appropriate for you).
Vet Visits: Visiting the vet clinic as a puppy in a social way can help create a positive experience for your puppy so they enjoy coming to the clinic.
Car Travel: Safe and stress-reducing car travel tips.
Basic Training: Commands like sit, stay, and walking on a lead are great first commands to learn which you can build on at home. Dogs love routine and enjoy doing things that ‘please’ you. Using universal commands mean that other people can easily work with your dog too.

Our classes are run to priorities different developmental/socialisation stages of the puppies. To achieve this we try our best to group puppies of the same age or size wherever possible.

Please select the clinic/s you would prefer to attend. We will take this into consideration when planning a class & you will be advised which branch is running the most suitable class for your puppy, enabling them to have the most positive socialisation experience.

I acknowledge that puppy preschool classes are to socialise my puppy during the critical socialisation period and while they are completing their vaccination course. Puppies must be under 16 weeks when starting a class.

I acknowledge the puppy preschool classes rely on everybody making an effort to attend all four classes to create an environment effective for socialisation. Vets North understands sometimes one class may be missed due to unforeseen circumstances.

The course fee for puppy preschool is $170.00. I understand this is non refundable and secures my position in the class as availability is limited.
